Many people seem to have a bit of a confusion in figuring out what does it mean to crochet a elastic band or rubber band? So I thought I’d explain it with this tutorial so that I can refer to it again whenever people send me an email asking for help in the future.
In some of my patterns, you will find instructions on how to make the dolls’ hair using the “elastic band” technique.
But what does it mean?
This means you have to work your crochet stitches in the back loop (BLO) of the stitch from the previous row, then turn and repeat. The fabric created is reversible.

NOTE: that turning chains never count as stitches in these examples.
